Sweet, Goofy Rio!

This is my niece, Rio. She is a very precocious child. We often joke in our family that she is 9 going on 30 because she is unusually observant of every little adult behavior and has an uncanny way of imitating everything she sees. Sometimes, talking to her is like talking to a little adult. You can't help but laugh.
I took these pictures about 4 years ago. She was 5 years old at the time. I came across them today while I was looking for another picture and they reminded me of an incident that occurred when she and her mother visited my church. Rio was about the same age as she is in those photos.
After the service, my pastor always stands at the exit to greet people as they leave. He loves children so he always makes a special effort to greet them too, so they don't feel left out. On this day, when I, my sister, and Rio reached the pastor, he leaned over and said to her, "How are you today, little lady?"
She looked him right in the eye and in that loud, clear voice that children always seem to have at the worst possible moments, said "I'm NOT a little lady. I'm a grown-up. I even know what sex is!"
The pastor stood up a little startled and asked, "You do?!"
And she replied, with her hands on her hips. "Yeah, it's when people roll around on the bed naked, tickling each other." Then she promptly marched out of the Church.
Everyone within earshot, including me, completely cracked up. Everyone that is, except my sister. Her face was the reddest I've ever seen. LOL
